Information

Estimations based on the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) calculation burning one gallon of gasoline releases around 19.64 pounds of CO2 into the atmosphere.

The average of gallons capacity is between 12 a 20 gallons. Variables calculated consider a Puerto Rico energy context, were Gasoline car: 1. Fuel consumption of the car in miles per gallon (MPG). 2. Carbon content of the fuel used (in pounds of CO2 per gallon). 3. Annual mileage driven by the car. Electric car: 1. Energy consumption in kilowatt-hours per mile (kWh/mi) of the electric vehicle, 2. CO2 emissions associated with electricity generation (in pounds of CO2 per kWh), 3. Annual mileage driven by the car.

This document is intended for informational purposes only and is not to be considered as a guarantee or precise representation of future performance or savings. The CO2 savings calculations presented here are based on estimates and assumptions that are subject to variability and change depending on numerous factors including, but not limited to, fluctuations in electricity generation sources, changes in regional emission factors, technological advancements, and operational practices at the electric vehicle (EV) charging stations.

The figures and methodologies used in this document are derived from sources believed to be reliable and are based on the best information available at the time of calculation.
